The Everglades is a great place to visit, but there are a couple things you must know before you step foot in Florida’s motherland. Here are a couple do’s and don’ts to keep into consideration.
Do’s:
Bring sunscreen: Florida isn’t called the sunshine state for nothing. Bring sunscreen with a SPF of at least 30 to help protect you from Florida’s powerful rays. It’s okay to be shady: The Everglades Weston is a flat wetland, which means there are very few trees for shade. If you know your skin is sensitive, we recommend bringing a hat to block the sun. Bringing sunglasses and wearing light colored clothing will also help with this issue. Don’t let the Everglades bite: The Everglades is known for its variety of wildlife. People tend to forget that mosquitoes are also locals in the Everglades as well. Apply bug spray to your entire body, including your face, to reduce the risk of bug bites on your skin. Stay hydrated: Always have water bottles handy when visiting the Everglades to stay hydrated. Capture the moment: If you have a camera you should definitely bring it along to capture the beauty of the Everglades. Maybe even an alligator will smile for you if you ask nicely. Stay positive: Yes we know the Everglades gets very hot at times, but don’t let it affect your mood. Remember not everyone gets to see the natural beauty of the Everglades. Don’t pollute: We want to preserve the Everglades WestonM for as long as we can. Please be respectful and don’t throw any garbage into the Everglades. NEVER harass the wildlife: Would you want to be bothered in your own home? Didn’t think so. Let the wildlife stay in their natural habitat by observing them in a respectful manner. Let the professionals do their job: When the professionals are providing you with facts about the Everglades, never question their knowledge. Of course you can ask a question if you want more information, but never disrespect them by saying you know more than they do.
